First Album by JakkHammer47, aka Jack Robson

Written as part of my Masters of Music post-graduate degree at the University of Hull as part of a dissertation entitled "Mankind Fall: The Common Tropes of the Heavy Metal Genre and Their Development", which looked into the common tropes and cliches of the heavy metal genre and its countless sub genres as a whole, while also examining their history and development both outside and within the metal genre.

This official release of the album includes 2 additional songs not included on the version written for the university assignment, creating an album of 10 original songs, all written, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by myself, with some songs being written over 2 years ago.

Tracks 3 and 4, Choir of the Blue and Mankind Fall, both feature additional guitar work by Alex Abel, a good friend of mine and student at the University of Hull, though guitar solos recorded on the two tracks.

The album was recorded at the Duality studio at the University of Hull, named due to it featuring a Solid State Logic Duality mixing desk, which was used for recording the album, with the exception of vocals being recorded using my own home studio.

Mankind Fall exists as a combination of all my influences, from Metallica to Pantera to Judas Priest to Blind Guardian, to name a few. it also draws from all my experiences playing in Teras, to working as a session guitarist on the ferries, my work as a sound engineer/technician and my love of Heavy Metal!

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it
